When you’re ready to get serious about off-roading, the 2022 Ford Ranger FX4 package will get the job done. Available on XLT and Lariat trims, the FX4 off-road package adds an off-road focused FX4 suspension, beefier tires, locking rear differential, and skid plates to spice it up. If that is not enough, Ford is adding three Ford Performance Off-road accessory packages. Come take a look at Brighton Ford if you are in the Denver area and you will surely be impressed.
Design
The 2022 Ford Ranger FX4 is offered with either an extended-cab body and a 6-ft bed, or in a larger crew-cab configuration with a 5-ft cargo box. Rear- or four-wheel drive is available with any body and trim combination. Ford’s front bucket seats are standard with cloth upholstery; and they are comfortable and supportive in all the right places. The crew-cab body has a good-size back seat, with plenty of legroom and storage cubbies. Opening up the backseat, you’ll be able to hold bulkier cargo. New for 2022 is a Splash trim that will be available as a package for $1,495 on the XLT and Lariat trims. This includes orange and black body-side graphics, 18-inch matte-black wheels, an orange grille trim and black exterior accents. A Splash Limited Edition will also come in a variety of colors, one by one, beginning with the Splash Snow Edition.
Towing, Hauling, and Performance
Capability is one of the Ranger’s strong suits. You’ll be able to move out to your next adventure and carry all of your gear with confidence with Ford’s impressive 7,500-pound tow rating and a best-in class maximum 1,860-pound payload rating. Included in the FX4 Off-Road Package is the Terrain Management System. The advanced terrain technology will let you choose normal, grass/gravel/snow, mud/ruts, or sand. This will provide optimum traction, drivability and performance. You’ll be able to power-up through all-terrain conditions with Ranger’s potent 2.3L EcoBoost and 10-speed transmission, with a torque rating of 310 lb-ft. It is smooth and more responsive than most rivals and the stop/start system is seamless, restarting the engine without any shaking. Fuel ratings for this truck average 20/24 mpg in the city and on the highway.
Safety and Technology Features
Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system responds well and is easy-to-use; and it comes standard on the XLT and Lariat models. It includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An optional technology package provides navigation, adaptive cruise control, and a forward-sensing system. Ford’s CoPilot-360 is also standard on XLT and Lariat trims and offers a suite of driver aids, including lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert that covers both the truck and any trailer you might be towing.
