The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty is a full-size, heavy-duty truck that offers more power than ever before, with spacious cabs and many convenience and technology options. It’s all-new more powerful 7.3-liter V8 engine and a turbocharged diesel V8 takes towing and power to the next level. The all new Chevrolet 2500 HD is a contender in its class. Let’s look at both to help you make your choice. Stop by Brighton Ford and take a drive.
Design
The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty features a sharp design and a practical layout, with straightforward controls and cabin materials that can handle all your needs. It comes in six trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. All trims except the King Ranch are configured as a regular cab, an extended cab, or a crew cab, with either a 6.8- or 8.2-foot bed length. Each trim offers more features, with the base trim offering air conditioning, vinyl upholstery, manual windows, and a rearview camera. Higher level trims offer features such as, a panoramic sunroof, a two-tone leather interior; and upscale options that include ambient lighting, heated and cooled front seats, massaging seats, and wireless charging.
Redesigned for 2020, Silverado has a new Durabed that is longer, wider, and more functional than before, adding nearly 3-inches of overall interior space in crew cab models. Crew cab models will likely be the volume configuration, but double cabs are available and regular cabs are offered for fleets. It also offers corner steps and side steps to access items in the deepest part of the bed near the cab. But with the new changes, Chevrolet barely gave the interior any attention in the truck’s makeover, leaving it with a design that looks a little older with mediocre plastics. The 2020 Silverado 2500HD is available in five main trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and High Country.
Safety and Tech
The basic work Ford F-250 truck offers a four-speaker audio system. Higher models offer an easy-to-use Sync 3 infotainment system, with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. It also can be upgraded with a 10-speaker B&O stereo and SiriusXM satellite radio. Standard on the basic XL is a rearview camera, and a telescoping tow mirror. An Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System, with a total of seven cameras, is offered in higher trim levels and allows you to feel confident on the road and maneuver into tight spots.
The Silverado HD uses eight available cameras to provide help while trailering and towing. It offers available safety technologies to help you on the road. Higher models offer advanced driver assist safety features, a head-up display, and additional trailer-and-bed cameras. The standard Work Truck includes a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An upgraded 8-inch touchscreen, and a Bose audio system are among other features that are offered for higher models.
