Before you choose between the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E and 2024 Honda Prologue, there are a few things you need to know about these luxury EV crossovers. Although we don’t know everything about the Prologue just yet, our comparison guide takes a look at what we do know about these coveted EVs.
Friendliest MSRP: It’s (Most Likely) a Tie!
Ford says its 2023 Mustang Mach-E will start at $46,895, with an MSRP that ranges all the way up to $69,895 for the thrilling GT trim model.
The 2024 Honda Prologue, which likely won’t be available to order until fall 2023, will probably have a similar starting MSRP, around $45,000. That means it’ll likely be very competitive with the Mustang Mach-E. And keep in mind that these prices are as of this writing and subject to change.
Interior Luxury: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
As far as we know, the Mustang Mach-E has the edge in this category. The standard lineup includes premium faux-leather upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control. All but the base trim model include a panoramic glass roof, heated front seats with driver’s seat memory settings, and a heated steering wheel. And higher trim models are even more stylish, with features like front sport seats and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
From promotional features, we can tell that the 2024 Prologue takes styling cues from other Honda cabins. And while it looks fantastic, we don’t yet know which features will be standard or optional. But watch this space, because we’ll update our review as soon as we know more!
Nimble Performance & Premium Power: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
With its agile handling and high dose of horsepower, the Mustang Mach-E is a pleasure to drive. If you’re looking for the fastest version of this luxury EV, you’ll find it in the GT Performance Edition, which shoots from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The California Route 1 model provides you with the longest battery range, delivering 312 miles of driving between charges.
How powerful will the 2024 Honda Prologue be? We’re actually not sure, because Honda has yet to release this model’s powertrain specs. Hopefully, though, the Prologue will combine generous power with an impressive battery range. Although we expect the Prologue’s battery range to come in somewhere between 250 and 320 miles, we can’t really make a fair comparison until we know more.
Safety & Tech Features: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Like most luxury vehicles, every Mustang Mach-E trim model comes with a full roster of infotainment gear and driver safety aids. The infotainment system impresses with its 15.5-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and built-in navigation. You also get a wireless smartphone charging pad to keep compatible devices ready for action.
The Mustang Mach-E’s high-tech safety aids do their best to keep you out of trouble, with accident-avoidance features like frontal collision mitigation and blind-spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, setting you up for an easygoing highway cruise, even on a jam-packed highway.
While Honda has yet to announce the Prologue’s actual features, we can tell by the promo photos that it will include an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. However, we’re not sure if the infotainment system will feature Honda’s software or the Google-based system currently found on GM models. But we do expect the Prologue to also offer Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. We’ll have to wait and see what else the Prologue has to offer, however!
Your Midsize Luxury EV
In the end, we still don’t know very much about the 2024 Honda Prologue. And we’re not merely waiting to learn more about Honda’s upcoming EV; we’re also going to have a wait a while before one of these models hits the streets.
