The Rundown
Automobile manufacturers have rushed to field their own EV SUV to keep their EV desirous brand-loyal customers in the family. This demand produced one of the more interesting entries into the EV SUV market, the Mustang Mach-e. Although old-fashioned fans of the Mustang became extremely frustrated with the name, the Mach-e really does not care. This electric SUV is built with Ford reliability, comfort and commuters in mind. The Mach-e is an impressive entry by Ford into the electric car market, and one of its main competitors is also a newcomer. The Audi Q4 e-tron. Both crossovers, these two will go head to head in this article, and we will find the better crossover for you.
What are the interiors of the two EVs like?
The Audi Q4 e-tron is a premier vehicle, similar to the Mustang Mach-e in price, and although we are used to the Audi name being associated with luxury, the e-tron falls a tad short. The Q4 e-tron does not have the huge infotainment screen we have come to expect with electric vehicles, and the interior just feels a bit stale. The dash feels cluttered and busy, with huge fans that take up most of the console. Despite the design feeling old, and more like a late 2000s vehicle, the materials used are better than most hard plastics used in common vehicles. The Mustang Mach-E is anything but stale, the interior is refreshing and is sure to make longer drives much less frustrating. The design of the console is simple and refined. This vehicle is built to be comfortable, upscale and to make all your friends jealous. The Mach-e promises to be a fun electric SUV and to wow your friends and family.
How does the Range of the Mach-e compare to the Q4 e-tron?
The Ford Mustang Mach-E has an anxiety free range that allows drivers to feel comfortable going the distance. It has 312 miles of range on the high end without AWD and the larger battery. On the opposite end the Mach-e has a range of 224 miles with the standard battery and AWD. The Audi Q4 e-tron has a single battery available across the lineup. This battery has a range of 265 miles per charge. Adding AWD drops that number to 245 miles for the sportback body style and 236 miles for the squareback style. The Mustang Mach-e might not be as incredibly fun to drive as its older brother, but its long range and on road comfort makes it a no-brainer.
Summary
The Mustang Mach-e is one of the most impressive entries into the electric vehicle market and Ford continues to make waves with its electric vehicles. The Mustang Mach-e is a continuation of American industry. This powerful vehicle outclasses most electric vehicles including the Audi Q4 e-tron. The Q4 e-tron is by no means a bad car, however, the Mustang Mach-e is more reliable and has more features.
