What’s new for the 2025 Ford Super Duty?
Ford may shuffle the Super Duty features around, perhaps making more tech and comfort features standard on lower trim models. However, we’re still waiting for Ford to officially introduce its 2025 Super Duty trucks! As soon as we learn more, we’ll update this space.
Will the 2025 Ford Super Duty offer a hybrid option?
Ford recently announced that the next-generation Super Duty will offer “multi-energy technology.” The automaker didn’t go into specifics, but it looks like we won’t see a hybrid (or plug-in hybrid?) powertrain until the Super Duty gets its next full redesign. Since we don’t expect a redesign for 2025, it’s safe to say we’ll be waiting on this new powertrain a while longer.
Until then, Super Duty shoppers can choose from four hefty engine options, depending on trim model:
- 6.8L gas V8 (400 hp, 445 lb-ft)
- 7.3L gas V8 (430 hp, 485 lb-ft)
- 6.7L Powerstroke turbo diesel V8 (475 hp, 1,050 lb-ft)
- 6.7L high-output Powerstroke turbo diesel V8 (500 hp, 1,200 lb-ft)
Which 2025 Ford Super Duty trim model should I choose?
As long as Ford doesn’t have any surprises up its sleeve, the upcoming Super Duty will be available as six handsomely equipped trim models: the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
If you’re in the market for a basic, heavy-duty work truck, the Super Duty XL is an appealing option. Since its redesign for 2023, this truck has come standard with a very impressive tech lineup, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Features like heated, power-adjustable towing mirrors, an integrated trailer brake controller, and a power-locking tailgate help you tackle big jobs!
With the XLT, you can both keep costs at a minimum and enjoy a longer list of modern features. This Super Duty truck works harder, too, with a standard lineup that includes the stronger gas-powered V8, standard four wheel drive, and fog lights. Inside, the XLT replaces the XL’s vinyl seats and flooring with cloth upholstery and carpets.
The Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited offer plenty of luxury, and each model delivers a longer list of upscale features than the last! The Lariat lets you balance your budget with finery like leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The King Ranch and Platinum cost more, but they also add increasing luxury, with features like a 14-speaker premium sound system, head-up display, and the Pro Power Onboard electrical generator. The top-tier Limited delivers an ultra-posh experience. Its exclusive features include premium two-tone leather seating, carbon-fiber carbon trim, and a twin-panel sunroof!
All but the base XL and top-tier Limited are available with the rugged Tremor Off-Road Package. Add it to transform your heavy-duty truck into a capable trailblazer, with a locking rear differential, skid plates, Rock Crawl driving mode, and more!
