Fourth Generation (2013-Present)
Previous generations of the Ford Transit were developed in the United States but were never sold there. This large new Transit serves as the replacement for the larger versions of the previous Transits and is available with rear- and four-wheel drive. There are two wheelbase options, three different lengths, and three roof heights so that you can find the perfect Transit for your specific needs. A 275 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine is standard; and 2015-2019 models get two other engine options – a 310 horsepower turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 and a 185 horsepower 3.2-liter diesel engine, with a 6-speed transmission. In 2016, the Transit T-150, T-250, and T-350 were upgraded with tech features, and also received a rearview camera and an updated infotainment system.
Updated 2020
For the 2020 model year, the Ford Transit underwent a revision, including an update of the front fascia and dashboard. The powertrain undergoes several revisions - the 3.5-liter EocoBoost twin-turbo V6 remains, with an all-new 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 and a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel. A 10-speed transmission has been upgraded for the 2020 model year; and the 3.2-liter 5-cylinder diesel will no longer come as an option. All-wheel drive is offered as an available option for the first time. An updated driver-assist suite and a larger display screen with smartphone connectivity are available. A power-sliding door is introduced, as well as dual sliding doors are offered. The 2020 Ford Transit has a starting price of $41,675.
