The F-150 Tremor is an all-new model in Ford’s line-up, and is expected to be available for summer 2021. Its rugged features are built for off-roading with new hardware and the latest technology to tackle rugged terrain.
Design
The F-150 Tremor will be available in three versions, with each featuring a standard F-150 Raptor-style bash plate, off-road running boards, and a unique hood and grille designed for a more muscular, aggressive profile. You will be able to see your Tremor at a glance with the added Active Orange highlights on the grille, badges, and front and rear recovery hooks. There is also a big Tremor decal on each side of the cargo bed. All versions of the F-150 Tremor are four-door SuperCrew cab models with a 5.5-foot bed. The Active Orange detailing continues inside, with unique materials and finishes as well as special seat trim and stitching.
Technology
Tremor will bring some new off-road technologies to the F-150 lineup, including enhanced Trail control (cruise control for off-roading), Trail One-Pedal Drive (makes rock crawling easier), and Trail Turn Assist (reduces the turning radius for low-speed maneuvers). Buyers will be able to get all three as part of the optional Ford Trail Toolbox. Tremor features selectable drive modes to allow customers to choose the setting best suited to driving conditions. A Rock Crawl drive mode option will automatically engage the locking-rear differential, turn off stability and traction control, reduce throttle response, and adjust shift points. Top-shelf instrumentation, infotainment, and sound systems can be outfitted in your Tremor. It will feature a 12-inch digital instrumentation panel, a Ford Sync 4 infotainment system with a 12-inch touchscreen display, cloud-based connected services, and a FordPass smartphone app.
Safety
Ford’s standard safety equipment is included in the Tremor, including Ford Co-Pilot360 advanced driving assistance systems, featuring pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, auto high-beam headlamps, lane-keeping system and rear-view camera. It is also available with a surround-view camera system that includes a front-view camera to help you see the precise terrain the truck will cross.
Power
The Tremor is a step above the popular FX4 off-road package and is designed and engineered for customers seeking more off-road capability than the FX4 package. It will come with a variety of enhancements, including 33-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels, and a revised suspension for improved ground clearance and overall traction. Power comes from a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It will be able to tow 10,900 pounds of trailer and haul 1,885 pounds of payload. Four-wheel drive is standard.
Overall
Ford remains one of the best pickups out there, and the new Tremor edition takes it to the next level for your off-road experience. It remains powerful with its engine and towing capabilities, as well as its revised suspension and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
